A brow lift is used to correct two problems; low hanging brows, and/or forehead wrinkles.

In general, an incision is made, the skin is lifted, the excess skin removed, and the brow is sutured into its' new, higher position.

The underlying muscle may be treated at the same time to prevent recurrence of wrinkles.

In women, incisions are placed either at or above the hairline. These locations hide the incisions.

Incisions above the hairline tend to raise the hairline, whereas incisions at the hairline tend to lower the hairline.

In men, incisions can be placed immediately above the brows or across the mid forehead. Incisions at or above the hairline may become noticeable later in life as the hairline recedes.
